Overview
KPV is a tripeptide derived from the C-terminus of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), consisting of the amino acids Lysine-Proline-Valine. Despite its small size, KPV is one of the most potent anti-inflammatory peptides studied to date, with a particular focus on gut inflammation, skin conditions, and systemic inflammatory responses. It has emerged as a leading candidate in research targeting inflammatory bowel disease and wound healing.

Mechanism of Action
KPV exerts its anti-inflammatory effects by directly entering cells and inhibiting the activation of NF-κB — the master regulator of inflammatory gene expression. It also suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α, while promoting the resolution of inflammation at the cellular level. Its ability to penetrate cell membranes gives it a direct and rapid mechanism of action.

Research Applications
Research on KPV has primarily focused on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis models. It has also been studied for its role in wound healing, skin inflammation, and systemic inflammatory conditions. Its gut-protective properties have made it a subject of intense interest in gastrointestinal research.

Reconstitution & Storage
KPV is supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute by adding bacteriostatic water slowly along the inner wall of the vial. Store unreconstituted vials in a cool, dry place — refrigeration is recommended for extended storage. Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated.
